Camera Movement 2
Camera Movement 2
For the second part of my filming I shot some of it going down the corridor in my school I walked down with the camera on the tripod which helped to stabilized the image. Then I shot one of my friends walking down the hallway with the camera in a fixed location. I also shot a zoom from the point of view of a year 12 student by placing the camera on top of one of the school lunch tables with the camera still attached to the tripod. In class we worked on our editing which at first was incredibly problematic because the network couldn’t handle the amount of footage we were uploading onto it. This caused the images to be jerky and they didn’t work very well at all but then that problem seems to have been sorted. We also changed the footage settings by changing the footage using the premiere encoder. I also learnt how to shorten my footage and add titles and different transitions onto the footage that I wanted to show.

Camera Movement
Media Project 2
For my second media project I had to get used to different camera movements so I decided to go down to Durham river and get some filming done down there. I worked on different pans and a few zooms as well as working on a different speed of zoom another thing that I did was to try using a tilt in my camera footage. I made sure that my camera was level when it was on the tripod by looking at the laser level that was there on the tripod I did this not only to make sure that the camera would look good but also to make sure the camera was safe. I also made sure that the camera was secured onto the tripod. I also tried to experiment with the camera. This week has been really busy so I have not managed to get my shots finished yet so I am going to get them done tomorrow morning so hopefully another post will follow...

Media Assignment 1 - The Road to Nowhere
Genre: Romance
For Media Studies we have to write a pitch for a movie. My is about someone who had something but then lost it and there is also someone else looking for this thing.
What I have decided would be the missing thing is love. Person A who we will call Alex was once in love with a beautiful woman who died tragically because of cancer which leaves Alex miserable as the thing that made him whole was lost. Person B is called Brian and he is a hopeless romantic all he wants in life is the kind of love that Alex shared with the love of his life. Brian is Alex’s grandson and when Brian goes to visit his grandfather Alex the two have a strange relationship. Alex is very distant and unavailable to Brian and Brian is frustrated with Alex it is safe to say that the two strongly dislike each other. After a few days of the two not speaking and moping around the house Alex and Brian decide to take a journey a road trip to Ireland which is where Alex and his wife first met and fell in love. Alex decides to go there to be reunited with his wife and Brian accompanies him to firstly ensure that his grandfather will be okay and also on the hope that the journey will lead him to his love.
The two set out on the journey and it is safe to say that everything that could go wrong goes wrong. Alex and Brian firstly head out to the airport so that they can fly to Ireland but as it is the time when there was volcanic ash all around the World planes aren’t flying in case the ash damages the engine. After a few unhappy words from both parties Alex and Brian decide to drive and then get on a ferry to get to Ireland.
Of course just driving was never going to be so simple for these two who are destined to get into all kinds of trouble. As Alex and Brian set off in the car as Alex is reversing out of his drive way BANG they hit a car that was driving by. After a visit from the police it is found out that Alex doesn’t have a license because of his age and the fact that his eyes and heart are weak so there is a fear that Alex could cause fatal accidents at any time. Alex then decides that Brian should just drive but it turns out that Brian doesn’t have a license so he can’t drive. They then decide to take the train. But the train only goes half the way. As the two get on the Train and have a seat they come across a young girl who is about Brian’s age and Brian is almost immediately attracted to this girl. But this girl who’s name is Beatrice is not as taken by Brian’s charm. As it turns out though Beatrice is also going to Ireland and doesn’t like to travel alone so there is another person added to the gang of wanders. When the train arrives is arrives at a small Irish town and the town has no bus or taxi so in all their eagerness the trio decide to walk.
Fed up with walking Beatrice sees a van and decides to hitch a lift but it turns out that the van is a thief's van so they steal her luggage and drive off. A while later they all find a pub and look for a phone in order to call a cab company or bus as they reach the phone the three notice the robbers ransacking Beatrice’s belongings and Brian manages to retrieve her things. This manages to soften Beatrice’s heart a little. Fed up with the trip Alex decides to disband and head home thinking it was a stupid thing to pursue anyway. They all then separate and as Alex gets more unwell Brian and Beatrice start to fall for each other. Alex though is soon picked up by an ambulance as he is progressively worse in his condition. This brings Brian and Alex back together. In the hospital Alex and Brian begin being social and polite with one another they go back to the way family should be full of love.
The film ends with Brian and Alex becoming like family again and completing their journey and also with Brian and Beatrice falling in love. They fall really deeply in love so in love that they can’t imagine life without each other. ( The romance of the story)
